Activating Fact-Trak
Answers before month-end. Fact-Trak is part of the Pro tier. Activation installs Fact-Trak on your SyteLine data and delivers five standard Power BI dashboards your team can use right away.
What activation includes
Included Standard installation
- Five standard dashboards
- Sales (invoiced sales, margin, on-time delivery, customer scorecard), bookings (open orders, backlog, past due), inventory (quantity and cost over time), job details (planned and actual cost, material variances, dates) and labor (efficiency, utilization, scrap, hours variances).
- Fact-Trak setup
- Parameters, SyteLine setup, completing activation, polling and the inventory export schedule.
- Security
- Each person sees the data they're authorized to see.
- Train-the-trainer
- Power BI FLEXreport basics: navigation, filters and drilling into detail.
Tuning and custom work Quoted, billed for time used
- More dashboards
- Purchasing, scheduling, downtime, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), machine, commissions, inventory turns and FIFO or LIFO inventory.
- Custom configuration
- Custom dashboards and alerts, and custom measures.
- Data model changes
- Optional fields, dimensions and measures.
- Excel reporting
- Pivot table templates and SyteLine Excel dashboards.
- Advanced setup
- More than one database, or more than one currency.
- Data validation
- Tying dashboard figures out to SyteLine.
- More training
- End-user training beyond the train-the-trainer session.
Products new to your account include a standard installation. Products you already run carry no included installation, except a reinstall when you move to Infor's multi-tenant cloud. Tuning and custom work are quoted before they start.
Before we start: what you need in place
We check these with you before we schedule. Anything not in place yet goes on your checklist, and we schedule once it's ready.
Systems and software
SyteLine, tier and Microsoft tools
- Platform tier
- Fact-Trak is included in the Pro tier.
- SyteLine version
- SyteLine 9 or later.
- Power BI licenses
- A Power BI Pro license for each viewer at minimum. Power BI Premium (per user or capacity) for data models over 1 GB.
- Power BI Desktop and Excel
- Power BI Desktop (latest version) to build and edit templates. Excel 2019 or later, or Microsoft 365 Excel, for pivot tables.
Servers and data access
On your servers or in the cloud
- On your servers
- SQL Server Analysis Services 2019 or later, as a Tabular instance, on a server that meets our Fact-Trak standards.
- On Infor's multi-tenant cloud
- A data streaming pipeline purchased from Infor, in place before activation.
- Infor GovCloud
- Fact-Trak isn't available on Infor GovCloud at this time, because Infor doesn't offer streaming pipelines there.
- Remote access
- Remote access to the servers for our team.
Your team and data
Decided before setup starts
- Fact-Trak administrator
- One person, usually in IT, who manages security and the Power BI workspace.
- Subject area owners
- One owner for each dashboard area who will stand behind the definitions.
- Data history
- How many years of SyteLine history to load, agreed with your account team.
- Inventory snapshots
- When inventory exports run, so quantity and cost can be tracked over time.
Your account team confirms these requirements against your SyteLine version and hosting before your activation is scheduled.

- Where SyteLine runs, and whether your streaming pipeline is in place
- How many people will view dashboards, and which Power BI licenses you have
- How many years of history to load
- Which dashboards matter most first
- Whether you run more than one SyteLine database or currency
